Mommy-Granmama?
A 51-year old surrogate mother for her daughter gave birth to her new twin grandchildren last Thursday, September 27, 2007.
Rosinette Serrao, a government health worker, gave birth to twin boys through Caesarian section. No harm occurred during the delivery and they were discharged last Saturday. The surgery was performed 2 weeks ahead of her supposed due date because the brand-new grandmother is having difficulty in sleeping.
The mother volunteered to surrogate for her daughter after 4 years of failed attempt to get pregnant. Her daughter, the 27-year old Claudia Michelle de Brito, is very grateful because according to Brazilian law, only relatives are supposed to surrogate for the mother. Since she is an only child, her mother volunteered.
